Offers for families
For many people in Cologne, a visit to the Philharmonie with the whole family is a firmly rooted annual tradition. Musical stories to listen to, marvel at, and join in make the experience a truly special one for both young and old. In the first family concert »Mit Karacho!« neighbors Wum and Bum meet the no less sonorous ladies Ding and Dong. For the first time, we are also bringing our daycare concerts to community centers throughout the city. Two violins, a viola, and a cello embark on a journey »Ab ins All« and »Gürzis neues Abenteuer« with the music mobile leads through stormy weather—and, after a breakdown, back into the basket.

Together with various community groups from grassroots culture, as well as emerging and professional musicians, we embark on a search for the rhythms of our time and our city. Whether in concerts, open workshops, installations, or pop-up happenings – here, the percussion worlds of different musical cultures become an experience for all! The soundscapes created by the artists spark reflections on the present and future, creating moments of connection with and for each other in the rhythm of our time.
The Gürzenich Orchestra is participating as part of the Open Philharmonic with a concert by its percussion ensemble.
