Violin – Orchestra academy

Marina Hermida Rodríguez (1999, Pontevedra, Spain) began her violin studies with Sergio Heredia and later with Mykolas Pocius at the Conservatory of Music "Manuel Quiroga" in Pontevedra. There she also studied viola da gamba with Arquímedes Artal. She was a member of the ONSG (Galician Children's Symphony Orchestra) and OJSG (Galician Youth Symphony Orchestra). Since 2015, she occasionally plays with the OSG (Galician Symphony Orchestra).

A multiple prize winner of the Cidade de Vigo competition, she has received master classes in violin with teachers such as Yuko Iwatani, Chisako Okamoto, Hitomi Aihara, Makio Ueda (Japan), Petru Munteanu (Leopold Mozart Center, Augsburg), Carolin Ohnimus (HfMT Hamburg), Cibrán Sierra and Savva Fatkulin (Spain), as well as master classes in viola da gamba with Vittorio Ghielmi (Mozarteum University, Salzburg).

As a soloist she recorded with the "Orquestra Filharmónica Cidade de Pontevedra" the violin concerto "In The Old Style" by Manuel Quiroga for the commemorative CD "150 Years Conservatory of Pontevedra". She performed the first movement from Beethoven's D Major Concerto and Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in the Euskalduna Palace at the International Festival Musika-Música (Bilbao) and in the Opera Palace (A Coruña) with students of the UDK Berlin and its Conservatory.

In 2015 she finished her intermediate violin studies and won the "End of Degree Prize". In 2016 she received the "Extraordinary Prize for Professional Artistic Education" and the "National Prize for Academic Achievement. Professional Artistic Education". In 2017, she finished her viola da gamba studies with the "End of Degree Prize" and also received the "Extraordinary Prize for Professional Artistic Education". Marina Hermida Rodríguez completed her Bachelor's degree with Ariadne Daskalakis at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt with Sophia Jaffé and has been a member of the Academy of the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne since the 2021/22 season.
