Christmas is the festival of miracles and inexplicable mysteries. Orchestra dog Gürzi knows that too, and he invites young and old to take a journey to the magical world of the nutcracker and the toys together with Marie. Marie is allowed to stay up a bit longer on Christmas Eve, and suddenly the toys come live: Marie finds herself right in the middle of a conflict between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. At the staged concert, the Gürzenich Orchestra will retell one of the most beloved Christmas stories employing E. T. A. Hoffmann’s literary fairy tale. The well-known music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky will get the whole family in the mood for celebrating on the second Sunday of Advent.
