When more than 300 elementary school students stand on the podium of the Cologne Philharmonic together with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, it can only mean one thing: Sound with class! This year, too, everything revolves around the world of sounds and rhythms. Over a period of five weeks, the students will be prepared by experienced music educators for the big final performance, in which they will make music to selected works by contemporary composers Gregor Mayrhofer and Vito Žuraj and let 360-degree worlds of sound wander around the podium through the Philharmonie. And on a very special theme: the focus is on the mysterious world of insects and the exciting question of how musical even the smallest inhabitants of our planet are. Cicadas, for example, are fantastic drummers. Don't believe it? Then you're like Johann and his friends, who just want to have a leisurely picnic one beautiful summer day, until the insect adventure surprises them! If you want to know what happens next, you are cordially invited to the big final concert of »Papperlapapp und Bienenstich« at the Kölner Philharmonie.
A cooperation of the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne and KölnMusik
