Alvaro Palmen

Alvaro Palmen began violin lessons at the age of four and became a student of Max Rostal at the age of fifteen. Even during his studies in Cologne and Bern, he served as concertmaster for various orchestras. He attended masterclasses with Rainer Kussmaul and Wolfram Christ. Alvaro Palmen also works as a conductor, having conducted, among others, the Gürzenich Orchestra and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Rheinische Musikschule. Since 1986, he has been a member of the first violins of the Gürzenich Orchestra.
