Colin Harrison
Colin Harrison was born in 1961 in Durham, England. He attended St. Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh and the Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester. He studied under Roger Raphael. Subsequently, he studied at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media with Ramy Shevelov, where he graduated with a diploma. He also earned the ARCM diploma—Associate of the Royal College of Music in London. As a substitute musician, he performed with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and Ensemble Modern. From 1988 to 1996, he was a member of the first violin section of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Since November 1996, he has been a permanent member of the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne. Additionally, from 2004 to 2011, he was a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra.
