Daniel Raabe

Daniel Raabe studied cello with Wolfgang Boettcher, Zara Nelsova, and Lynn Harrell, whose assistant he also was. As a founding member of the Ponche Quartet, he received a one-year scholarship with the LaSalle Quartet and performed at the Aspen Summer Festival. Daniel Raabe was a member of the chamber orchestra of the Young German Philharmonic and co-founder of the Oriol Chamber Orchestra in Berlin. He has always been deeply involved with contemporary music. He was a member of "work in progress" in Berlin, played with musikFabrik NRW, and is a regular guest with Ensemble Modern. Since 1990, he has been a cellist with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne; he is also a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra.
