Frederik Bauersfeld
Frederik Bauersfeld received his first tuba lessons at the age of eight. At 15, he became a young student of Stefan Heimann, with whom he later studied in Mannheim. From 2019 to 2021, Frederik Bauersfeld played in the State Orchestra of Braunschweig and in 2021 he joined the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne as principal tubist.
As an orchestral musician, he has performed with the Bavarian State Opera Orchestra, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, the Philharmonic State Orchestra Hamburg, and the hr Symphony Orchestra, among others. Since 2016, Frederik Bauersfeld has been a member of the brass quintet Urban Brass, with which he won first prize at the 10th International Jan Koetsier Competition for Brass Chamber Music in Munich in 2016.
In addition to performances with his quintet, he has played concerts with German Brass, hr-Brass, and the brass players of the Gürzenich Orchestra. Since 2023, Frederik Bauersfeld has been a lecturer at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim.
