Jason Witjas-Evans

Jason Witjas-Evans began his musical education in his hometown of Cork, Ireland. After graduating with multiple honors, he continued his studies in 1999 at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, where he focused on composition, conducting, and double bass. In 2005, he completed his concert examination at the Berlin University of the Arts.

During his studies, Jason Witjas-Evans performed as principal double bassist in numerous national and international orchestras. He also gained several years of experience as a member of the orchestral academy of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. From 2006 to 2014, he served as principal double bassist of the Schleswig-Holstein Symphony Orchestra in Flensburg. As a soloist, he has performed with several orchestras, including the Schleswig-Holstein Symphony Orchestra.

Since August 2014, Jason Witjas-Evans has been a member of the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne.
