Joanna Becker

Joanna Becker was born in Wiesbaden and began her violin training with Helga Wähdel, a pupil of Tibor Varga, at the Peter-Cornelius-Konservatorium in Mainz. She later studied with Ida Bieler at the music universities in Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf, completing her studies with a Konzertexamen (concert diploma). With her chamber music and solo projects, Joanna enjoys exploring paths beyond the traditional concert scene. She is also passionate about building bridges to other genres and art forms. Joanna Becker lives in Cologne with her husband and their three children. Since 1998, she has been a member of the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne.
