Maria Scheid

Maria Scheid was born in Göttingen and studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Rainer Moog and the Alban Berg Quartet. She has performed with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Claudio Abbado, the Cologne Chamber Orchestra, and as a guest with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. Maria Scheid was a scholarship holder of the Villa Musica Chamber Music Foundation, the Royal Academy of Music London, and the Escola Chigiana in Siena with Yuri Bashmet. Since 2002, she has been a member of the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln.
