Victor König
Victor König, born in Fürth in 2000, was a young student at the Nuremberg University of Music (HfM) under Prof. Nikolaus Maler whilst still at school. After completing his A-levels, he began his bachelor’s degree at the Detmold University of Music (HfM) in Prof. Tobias Pelkner’s class. From 2021 to 2023, he was a member of the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne’s orchestra academy, where he has been a permanent member of the orchestra since March 2025. In addition, he was principal bassoonist with the Stuttgart State Orchestra during the 2023/2024 season. As a guest musician, he has performed with orchestras including the Nuremberg State Philharmonic, the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra, the WDR Symphony Orchestra and the Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin. With his woodwind quintet, he was a scholarship holder of the Dörken Foundation in Hagen, and as part of the bassoon trio at the Detmold University of Music, he won first prize at the Detmold University Competition. As a soloist, he has performed the bassoon concertos by W.A. Mozart and C.M.v. Weber with, amongst others, the Hagen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ulm Orchestra Society.
