23/24 Piano Power

We present three exceptional pianists of the young generation in this subscription. Alexandre Kantorow, Artist in Residence this season, opens the series with the fiery 2nd Piano Concerto by Franz Liszt and closes it with the »Egyptian« 5th Piano Concerto by Camille Saint-Saëns, both conducted by François- Xavier Roth. The only piano concerto by Edvard Grieg is interpreted by Jan Lisiecki together with Tarmo Peltokoski. Benjamin Grosvenor, known for his electrifying piano playing, devotes himself to the highly virtuosic 3rd Piano Concerto by Sergei Prokofiev, conducted by Elim Chan.
