What you always wanted to know about the sounds of the 20th and 21st centuries but didn't dare to hear: In the Unerhört series, Susanna Mälkki and Alban Gerhardt take you to fantastic worlds of sound with Henri Dutilleux's Cello Concerto. The opera Die Soldaten (The Soldiers) by the great Cologne composer Bernd Alois Zimmermann deals with the effects of war on individual life stories. The work will be staged by Calixto Bieto, conducted by François-Xavier Roth. He will also premiere a weighty work by Enno Poppe as part of the Acht Brücken festival.
